Island Time

What a summer we have had. Lots to update but will take one leg at a time. The five of us headed to the Island at the end of June. Mor mor and Pop-pop followed a couple of days later, then Helen and Kate joined us for the Fourth of July weekend. We had amazing weather! Lots of sun and like everywhere else very hot, but nice to be on the river. Two days into the Island trip I nursed Lauren for the last time:( Bittersweet but happy to be done and proud to have made it the full year, she is now on whole milk and doing great. She also started pulling herseld up to standing in the playyard within the first couple of days. Still lagging behind the norm for her age, but she is now pulling herself up on anything and everything. Still hasn't stood on her own, but is doing a bit of cruising. Helen stayed on at the Island for our whole stay. After mom and dad left, the Rundles joined us. Calvin did great in the water and did lots of swimming with his swimmies. He swam from the dock to the morning bay several times. He also did a bit of jumping off the floating dock and swimming with no swimmies. He also has discovered snorkeling and LOVES it. We had lots of fun at the Sandy Beach. Also attended a centennial party at a neighboring Island. In our Island group there are 6 boys in this generation all under 6, with more to come! And only two girls (including Lauren). After the Island we headed home for a couple nights at home before leaving on out road trip. Laundry to be done and lawn to be mowed.
