Niagra Falls to Ohio 4/21->4/29

We left Saturday morning to drive to Niagra Falls.  The falls will be our pit stop on the way to Ohio.  Ken does a lot of business in Buffalo but has yet to see the falls.  We had a fairly slow drive to the Falls.  Lauren is now in pull ups so we tried hard to stop whenever she felt the need to pee.  We also stopped at a Bass Pro Shops much to Ken and the boys delight.  We had never been to one before and they are pretty neat.  Huge fish tanks and activites set up for the kids.  We also stopped at a Target to buy Lauren a blankie.  We left her little Taggies Blanket in Vermont.  I knew that Target sold the line and stopped in hopes of getting a dulpicate, I couldn't get the exact color but they had the same size and style.  I bought a gift bag and wrapped it up a bit and made a big deal of giving her a princess (its very pink) vacation blanket, she was thrilled.  She didn't know we had forgotten hers, she only sleeps  with it.  We contmeplated going cold turkey but not somwthing I wanted to deal with on vaca.  It was rainy in Niagra but we got to see the falls and take a few pictures.  We had a great family dinner at The Keg (candian steakhouse chain).  We saw the falls from the Candian side and spent the night in Oh Canada.

In the AM we headed west and went to a random breakfast joint I found on Urbanspoon.  It was a perfect greasy spoon for the family.  At the restaurant all the patrons were talking about the coming storm.  It was the first Ken and I heard of it, but that evening the BUffallo and Erie area got walloped by a late season snow storm.  Thank goodness we left when we did or we would have been stuck smack in the middle of it.  After breakfast we continued on to Bellbrook.

WE stayed for two nights with the Hernes in Bellbrook.  Unfortunately Frank was gone on business but so nive to see Cecilie (my cousin) and the kids.  Their house is awesome and has a pool.  The kids jumped in but it was chilly and we didn't last long.  We made it to IKEA which I enjoy.  MOnday the 23rd we had dinenr with the McCrosons.  Tuesday mornign we left for Ken's dad house.  The rest of the trip was spent visiting with Ken's Dad, sister and mom.  The kids had fun playing with their cousins.  We did one little trip to the Rankin House in Manchester, OH.  The Rankin house was a a stop on the underground railroad.

We left the 29th and drove straight home in record time and that included a stop for a sit down breakfast.
